52 Must See Places of Northwest

Standing in the middle of a flower dotter meadow on the eastern foothill of Mt. Rainier, I felt like an idiot.  I have travelled to five continents and a dozen countries in search of photo opportunities, extreme landscapes, adventure and a quest to see the world; and here lie in my very backyard of the Northwest sights that I have overlooked.

I decided to makeup for a decade of folly within a year. For the next fifty two weekends that I am in the Northwest, I will find a place – new or retuning - and be there to enjoy splendid landscape.It has now been said, just remains to be done.Stay tuned.

We used (one of the last) sunny Saturday's in Seattle to hang around Discovery Park in Seattle. Relatively unknown, it has a clean beach and a quaint lighthouse.

I wish we had waited until sunset to get some better light for the photos. (What we got was not bad)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lot of seashells on the beach.

 

Carry an umbrella on a sunny day. There is very little shade on the beach.

New camera, old tricks.

The light was doing nothing for me. Seattle stood before me - proud and beautiful.

What struck me was how the buildings got taller as one panned right - and then the Seattle Space Needle on the left - as if balancing them out.

BTW, Nikon D60. You spend $1000 of hard earned money and most camera review sites call it "the best entry level digital SLR". Entry level?
