A lush ancient resort? A place of worship? A rest-house for the weary?
The raison d'être of this three tier elaborate huacha is lost permanently unless a Jean-François Champollion finds the equivalent of the Rosetta Stone. What is apparent is the usage of water as the central theme. Built on a natural spring, the origin of which is currently unknown, a series of sophisticated aqueducts brings the water to the Banos del Inka.
