Close to the octagonal pavilion and the mint are the remains of a royal palace (detailed description).
Like most Indian palaces 14 century or prior, all that remains is the foundation and the platforms - pointing to fact that the palace was built out of wood or brick & plaster.
There is a huge royal bath or King's bath adjoining the palace with a beautiful inlet shaped like a Nandi.
A huge platform on the rear was used by the King to climb on to the elephant.
In the background is visible the tapering compound walls. The size of the stones diminish as they get closer to the top.
